Cub Scouting is a year-round family program designed for boys who are about 7-10 years old or in the first through fifth grades.  Boys age 11 and up, regardless of grade in school, should contact a Boy Scout troop regarding membership, as we cannot enroll a boy who is beginning in scouts at age 11 or over.

Pack 421 is extremely successful because we "know what it takes" to run a great program.  One of the keys is adequate supervision and adult leadership.  Pack 421 will not accept more scouts than it can adequately supervise; new scouts are given spots in the order in which their applications and payments are received.

Any scout that we cannot accept due to supervision limits will be referred to another local pack for membership. Fortunately, there are several great packs in Corona to choose from.  You may contact us at any time throughout the year to inquire about openings in our pack or for referrals to other packs.

We hold our annual recruitment night (called Roundup) in August of each year.  This is the time when there are the most openings available and it is the best time of year to start because it is right before our new scouting year begins.  If your son does not bring home one of our Roundup flyers, be sure to get in touch with us (click Contact Us below) in early August so you know what to bring to the meeting and attend on the scheduled date.  If you cannot attend Roundup, you will need to make an appointment to process membership forms as soon as possible after the Roundup date.

It is very common for our Pack to fill to capacity between Roundup and September 1, particularly at the Bear (grade 3) and Webelos (grades 4 & 5) levels.  Again, any scout that we cannot accommodate will be referred to another local pack for membership.
