You may purchase Cub Scout field uniforms from any of the scout shops listed below, or on the internet. Special patches (such as the Council patch) can only be purchased at our local stores or through the local council (CIEC) website.
Note, Pack 421 does not require that you purchase the official navy Cub Scout pants or shorts. For Tigers, Wolves, and Bears, any navy pant or shorts (such as school uniform) with belt loops are acceptable. Webelos scouts should purchase their green pants/shorts at the Scout Shop. Jeans, khaki tan, or camouflage pants are not permitted for formal field uniform (also known as "Class A") wear at any rank in our pack.
Getting the most out of your uniform (and money):
Tiger, Wolf, and Bear Cub Scouts all wear the blue field uniform shirt and pants. Purchase them large enough to last through these three ranks (years). The "Switchback" convertible pants available at the Scout Shop (have zip-off bottoms that turn the pants into shorts), while more expensive than navy school uniform pants, are highly durable and prevent needing a pair of pants and another pair of shorts. Also, we recommend you purchase the Cub Scout belt buckle (rather than the Tiger belt buckle) as the Cub buckle can be worn all three years.
Webelos scouts in our pack wear the tan shirt and green pants that are used as the Boy Scout uniform. Purchase them large enough to last through the two years of Webelos and the first year of Boy Scouting. The "Switchback" convertible pants from the Scout Shop are highly recommended in Boy Scouting since the scouts have packing restrictions on trips.
New scout, any rank, advice: Purchase the short-sleeve blue or tan field uniform shirt as big as you can wear it comfortably; no need to purchase the short and long sleeve shirt in our climate - you can always wear a sweatshirt or long-sleeve t-shirt under your uniform shirt if necessary.
For consistency among all leaders, Pack 421's leaders (male and female) wear the official tan Boy Scout uniform shirt and green Boy Scout pants/shorts. Female leaders should not purchase the yellow Cub Scout leader blouse/blue pants.
The Pack 421 activity shirt (also known as a "Class B t-shirt"), which the boys and leaders wear for outdoor activities when the field uniform is impractical, is included in the New Scout fee when a scout first joins the pack. The "Class B" activity t-shirt may also be worn by a scout's family members and may be purchased at pack meetings; check for current pricing. "Class A" field uniform wear is restricted to scouts and BSA-registered adult leaders.
