UPCOMING SPECIAL EVENTS Some links require Adobe Reader (pdf files); available through free download Please also see our Calendar page for a complete listing of our activities. Scouting for Food week is the week of November 10. All food is to be collected in the bags provided to scouts, and to be dropped off on Saturday, Nov. 15 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the YMCA building at 475 E. Grand Ave. (on Grand Ave. just past Main Street). If you need more bags, contact Mai Nugent please. Den leaders are encouraged to have one person take all the food for their den to the YMCA. All donations must be turned in with the drop off form so your den receives credit and patches. If you need the "tear off slip" to attach to your bags, click here. Raingutter Regatta is coming Dec. 6 at Foothill Elementary. Please download the 2008 rules and be sure to follow them. Time and other info TBA. SAVE THE DATE!!! Annual Blue and Gold Dinner will be Saturday, Feb. 7 at 5 p.m. at West Community Friends Church. The Blue and Gold Dinner is a celebration of the anniversary of Cub Scouting in America. Packs throughout the nation celebrate this occasion in February of each year. This year's national theme is American ABC's. Live music and entertainment to be provided by the Cornbread Washtub Band. Tickets are $2 per non-scout (to cover room rental and entertainment only); Pack 421 scout and den chief tickets are FREE. All tickets must be obtained in advance; dinner will be potluck and families will be assigned their dish to bring when they buy their tickets. Please note: Room capacity is limited to 240 persons for this event. Therefore, we will be limiting initial ticket sales to one ticket for each scout and two for his parents (families with more than one scout will receive tickets for each scout and the two parents only). Then, after all scouts have had a chance to purchase their family's scout and parent tickets, we will release any remaining seats to those on a wait list so that siblings and other family may attend. Here's how the sale will go:
Please do not swap tickets with other families, give your tickets away to others if you are not planning to attend, or make other private arrangements. We have created this policy to make it fair for everyone and to make sure that every scout and parent who wants to attend is guaranteed a seat. If you find after picking up your tickets that you can't attend, please turn them back in to us so we can give them out to the wait list. Thank you. Questions about Blue and Gold? Please call Roxanne Miller or Renee' Fortin.
